For special projects, professional advice and more detailed horticultural knowledge Knoll’s owner, Neil Lucas offers a personal Garden Consultancy and Advice Service.

Knoll’s owner, Neil Lucas, (M.I.Hort.) is the UK’s leading ornamental grass specialist and well-known for his naturalistic planting style. Less well known is his extensive horticultural career taking in private and public projects, in situations as diverse as NHS hospitals, private gardens, zoos and stately homes.
Frequently seen on TV and in the national press, the gardens at Knoll, together with 10 Chelsea Gold Medals attest to his natural ability, and his accumulated knowledge is now available to help you create a stunning planting scheme, or plan a glorious garden.

If you are looking to bring something of the Knoll style of gardening to your own plot, simply need advice about plants, are planning new borders, trying to reclaim an out of control plot, or want to reduce maintenance a one-off consultation can help get you started.
As a hands-on gardener Neil is not a garden designer. What he brings to your garden is pure horticultural knowledge, gained through years of experience, and a natural affinity with nature.

Whilst he frequently advises by email, and many projects can be completed successfully in this way, a site visit is often preferable, providing the perfect opportunity to discuss your plot and your plants face-to-face with a passionate plantsman.

Garden Consultancy is available at just £45 per half hour, which also applies to travel time if required.

Both private and commercial landscape projects may well require the services of a qualified landscape designer. They are trained in every aspect of garden design, including hard landscaping. If you have a project of this nature we recommend you approach a registered member of the Society of Garden Designers to be confident of getting the best service and expertise.
