    From 10.30am to 12noon, join us as we discover Knoll Gardens’ wonderful wildlife! Open up the moth trap to see what has been caught overnight, dip the pond in search of aquatic life and discover the insects nectaring on Knoll’s flowering perennials. Be inspired to encourage wildlife into your garden!

    Organised by the garden’s charity, the Knoll Gardens Foundation, this children’s event is suitable for children aged three years and upwards. Activities encourage a love of nature from a young age, inspiring children and their parents or carers to interact with the garden’s many wildlife inhabitants as well as its trees and flowers.

    There is limited shelter in the garden, so please dress for the weather on the day. Planned activities may be subject to change or cancellation at short notice depending on the weather conditions.

    All children must be accompanied by an adult (max of 2 adults per child ticket).

Between 11am – 12am join Knoll Gardens bumblebee surveyor, and chair of the Knoll Gardens Foundation, Rowena Jecock in the beautiful gardens at Knoll to discover more about the fascinating world of bees, learn how to identify some of the species you are most likely to find in your own garden and what you can do to help them thrive.

    This is the second of two stand alone walks, the first walk being held on 26th April.

Full of infectious enthusiasm for butterflies and dragonflies Keith has been recording sightings at Knoll for many years; join him to find out how this year’s count is going and learn how to identify various species.

    Suitable for all levels, this relaxed, friendly session, from 10am to 3pm, in a small, informal group will help you learn new techniques for capturing the colour, shape and form of Knoll’s stunning ornamental grasses and flowering perennials.  Join experienced, friendly commercial photographer Dave Peckham, and discover how to take striking pictures within the gardens, using your camera to best effect.

    Whether it’s the detail of macro photography, the stature of plant portraiture, or perfecting depth of field for landscapes, Dave will enthusiastically share his wealth of knowledge with you, helping you to hone your skills and become a great garden photographer in your own right!

    Bring a packed lunch to enjoy while chatting to Dave and the other participants and with further opportunity to explore the beautiful gardens.

    This is the first of three stand alone classes, the others being held on 27th July and 21st September.
