EVENTS
LIVABLE LANDSCAPES
These new sessions are a natural progression from the well-established grass masterclasses and offer an overview of the ethos behind Knoll Gardens. Knoll’s overall approach to concept, design and ‘right plant right place’ are all covered, with a strong focus on sustainability. The resulting genuinely low-maintenance, pleasing, easy-to-live-with design, and wildlife friendly techniques are all explained in this exciting new series on livable landscapes.Nationally recognised for our ‘special subject’, our grass masterclasses have proved extremely popular. For 2008 we are staging even more of these events to help satisfy demand.
Each event will be taken by Neil Lucas personally and are based in the nationally acclaimed 4 acre gardens which are becoming well known for our particular approach to the use of grasses and perennials in the modern naturalistic style.
Centred around a tour of the garden, the afternoon will cover all aspects concerning the use of grasses in a garden setting. Specific subjects will include layout and design, border preparation, choice of plants, general care and cultivation.Costs and Booking
Cost of all sessions include entrance to the garden, a colour catalogue and refreshments.

Grasses and Perennials for the Modern Garden
Neil’s flagship talk, continually updated with new slides, based around Knoll Gardens nationally recognised specialism of ornamental grasses and how to use them in a garden setting. Packed with lots of cultural information, anecdotes, stories, and background on Knoll Gardens intended to give an up to date overview on grasses and their place in our gardens.
The American Connection
An account of Neil’s travels in the Western USA covering five States over the last seven years or so in his search for new plants and ideas to bring back to the UK. Knoll Gardens has something of a reputation for introducing new and exciting plants, especially grasses, and many have been introduced as a direct result of his travels in the USA.
