Events and Classes

Discover and Learn

Our events programme compliments the changing seasons, and runs from spring through to the autumn, providing opportunities for everyone to learn new skills, enjoy our wildlife and discover the way to a beautiful garden with great environmental credentials.

Alongside wildlife events organised by our associated charity, the Knoll Gardens Foundation (Reg Charity 1159390), Neil Lucas leads regular horticultural walks, talks and masterclasses in the garden. As the UK’s leading authority on ornamental grasses, Neil can also be found speaking and lecturing across the UK and overseas.

Changing Seasons in the Garden with Neil Lucas

Changing Seasons in the Garden with Neil Lucas

One of a series of garden walks, from 2pm to 3pm, offering a unique opportunity to spend time with Neil Lucas in the garden. Each individual walk will focus on the garden’s changing seasonal highlights; from spectacular individual plants to mass plantings of Knoll’s acclaimed grasses, and the rare and unusual trees and shrubs that form the backbone of the garden. On route you’ll also find out a little more about Neil’s work at Knoll, his aim to have a flower in bloom on every day of the season, and how he is looking after the garden’s wildlife.

Book several of the walks to experience at first hand the spectacular seasonal changes that take place every year at Knoll, watching grasses grow up from ground level to five or six feet high in a matter of weeks, and enjoying the garden’s annual journey from the first spring shoots of bright greens to the stunning glow of autumn colour.
