Miscanthus nepalensis is now looking really fabulous with its rather distinctive burnished brass like coloured flowers reminiscent of gold lace being held on long slender looking stems high above mounds of bright green foliage.
Like so many miscanthus it has been a bit later to flower this year thanks primarily to a slow spring but it is making up for lost time now!
Growing to about 1.2 to 1.5m, it is a little less robust and hardy than most miscanthus, preferring a warmish position in sun in a reasonably well drained soil, but when suited will flower happily for many years. It will also perform well in pots if placed in similar conditions.
