WE HAVE PAUSED THE ABILITY TO TAKE NEW ORDERS

COVID 19; With a paramount need for safety, a reduced staff, and a courier system at full stretch we have had to take the exceptional step of pausing acceptance of orders due to ultra high demand. We do apologise for this action and hope to resume acceptance of orders in a few days once we can catch up with orders already placed.

For orders already accepted despatch time is likely to be approximately 15 – 20 working days from date of order.

We do very much appreciate our customers orders and are working hard to retain our standards in these most unusual circumstances.

Caring for your grasses

Grasses are such a beautiful, tactile and useful group of plants to use in our gardens; and all they ask in return is for a small amount of fairly easy annual maintenence to keep them looking good and happy for another whole year.

Easy as it is, one of the most popular questions we are still asked by our customers is how to look after grasses. You are of course always very welcome to contact the nursery with specific questions but to help we have put together a photo gallery and even a short video to help explain what to do.

If you are not quite sure what is needed take a look at our ‘How to Look After Grasses‘ gallery which has both images and some text to help answer your questions. (Dont forget to hover you mouse over the individual images to see the full text).

Should you have mostly the larger wow factor deciduous grasses then why not take a quick look at our gardener, Luke, preparing the Decennium border in a short video.

Should you prefer a paper copy of our suggestions then Neils book ‘Designing with Grasses‘ has a whole chapter dedicated to the maintenence of grasses in easy to understand language.

And finally, should you wish to combine a visit to the gardens here with learning all you will need to know about this wonderful group of plants, why not book a place on our masterclasses when the gardens are at their peak and Neil will take you on a tour of the gardens to look at every aspect of gardening with grasses from planting and aftercare to design and selection.
