Stachys are a group of compact long lived perennials, some native, offering quietly beautiful spikes of early summer flowers arising from mats of crinkled green leaves. Highly attractive to pollinators. Prefer sunny open positions and most soils except too winter wet. Also known by the relatively new name of Betonica.
