Sanguisorba Ruby Red was first seen in the garden as a seedling that arose in the Mill End borders and is likely to be a form of Sanguisorba tenuifolia. As with other plant selections from Knoll Gardens it has undergone some years of trial and evaluation before being released to UK gardeners in 2023.
