A rather fascinating, more or less frost hardy terrestrial bromeliad for milder areas which will slowly produce a mass of gently pendulous strap like sharply toothed green leaves. During summer it may produce several impressively coloured central bosses of turquoise to cobalt blue that are surrounded by bright red tinted leaves. Sunny well drained sheltered position. Soil not too wet.  Height 40cm-60cm.

Description

These flowering perennials are Evergreen: Comb or rake off any old, tired or dead leaves and flowers in spring. If needed evergreens can be cut back (by up to half) at almost any time from April to July. Do not cut back in autumn or winter.
