Stipa

Stipa, the Feather Grasses or Needle Grasses, are a large and varied group of mostly clump forming evergreen grasses that include the iconic golden oat grass, Stipa gigantea, which now has a new name of Celtica gigantea. While botanically Stipa have been the subject of various name changes, they remain a much used group of grasses for our gardens. All require a sunny open aspect and soils that are not winter wet.
