The European native snowy wood rush is an introduced species to the UK. Slowly increasing mounds of hairy wide green leaves and dense clusters of highly attractive early season flowers in various shades of white and cream. Very effective en masse. Perhaps ideal in partial shade in a range of soils from damp to reasonably dry, but can also tolerate a fairly open and sunny position if soil not too dry. Height; 50cm – 60cm.

Description
These ornamental grasses are evergreen and spring flowering.
Once flowering has finished the old flower stems as well as the foliage of this luzula can look rather tired and brown. Cutting back all the old growth to within an inch or so of the ground after flowering will encourage a new sheaf of fresh green foliage that will then last until the same time next year.
