Description

This native ornamental sedge is semi evergreen, however if required it can be trimmed one or more times a season to refresh growth. While in favoured areas it may retain green foliage all year during most winters here in the UK the foliage of this sedge is likely to go brown and semi dormant. In this eventuality the old browned foliage can be trimmed off in mid to late winter (especially if planted in association with early bulbs), or early spring as the plant breaks back into growth. This can be done on an annual basis and will encourage healthy fresh growth from the base.

Spreads by underground runners.
