Description

This native ornamental sedge is largely Evergreen, however it can produce a significant amount of flower during the spring to the extent that the plant can appear rather untidy once flowering is finished. Where this happens it can be trimmed back hard, which removes the old and untidy growth and encourages fresh green foliage to come from the base.

During harder winters, and even some difficult cultural conditions, the mostly evergreen foliage of this sedge can go brown and dormant. In this eventuality the old browned foliage can be trimmed off during later winter, or in early spring as the plant breaks back into growth.
